Favourite Brands 2 - Moulin Roty

This week we would like to share Moulin Roty and introduce you to La Grande Famille and Les Zazous!

Moulin Roty are a French company who make the most gorgeous, high quality, plush soft toys, puppets and traditional wooden toys. They have a huge selection, too many to choose from so after lots of deliberating we chose La Grande Famille and Les Zazous to stock in our shop.

La Grande Famille (Big Happy Family)

Included in this family is Sylvain the rabbit, Nini the mouse, Julius the dog, Arsene the squirrel, Felicie the hen, Jeanne the goose, Apolline the mole, Albert the lamb, Igor the wolf, Amedee the duck, Mimosa the cat, Barnabe the donkey, Perlette the frog and Emile the hedgehog.

This collection of wonderful well dressed soft toy animals are perfect childhood gifts, I still have one similar that my Nan bought for me when I was 18 months old! They have the most distinctive facial features, soft bodies and long limbs which makes them extremely huggable. They can be dressed and un-dressed and another bonus is they are safe from birth and machine washable so great newborn gifts.

We also stock a selection of La Grande Famille hand puppets which babies and children love! They can also be dressed and re-dressed,

If Albert the lamb is your favourite, hurry to adopt him as we only have 1 left in stock until we order some more!

All can be purchased on our website here..

Les Zazous

These very cute and cuddly soft toys are a big favourite, they come in their own special 'drum' style box so are great to give as a gift.

Les Zazous are a family of long-legged soft cuddly creatures, they all have soft fur and different designs on their tummy's and paws. They are also machine washable which is handy!

Come and meet Baba the Kaola, Taptap the rabbit, Zouzou the mouse, Groou the lion and Brrouuu the elephant.

Favourite Brands 1 - Blafre

Over the next few weeks I'll be blogging about the brands we sell on our website, each one was picked for a reason and I'd like to share these little things with everyone so you find out more about us and our business!

I'd like to start with Blafre

Blafre is a family company based in Oslo the capital of the beautiful Norway, owned by Ingrid and Remi, they are inspired by the 1970's and their daughter Nora. Ingrid designs the products and Remi runs the company!

As soon as I came across Blafre I fell in love with their bright colours and retro style, they really stand out and I could imagine my son Alfie walking to school with one of their tins as a lunch box. Especially the robot one as he's always sticking a box on his head and pretending to be a robot!

Not only are their products retro funkiness, they are extremely good quality and try to be eco-friendly where possible. Their drinking bottles can even be recycled and always BPA free.

As you can tell from our website their tins and drinking bottles are our favourite as that is all we stock at the moment but Blafe have lots more to offer. They make greeting cards, colouring books, fabric, art prints, calendars, notebooks, party invitations, thermos flasks, wrapping paper, aprons, baby bibs, linen, buntings, cushions and of course their tins in different sizes all to match in their retro design.

We picked these ones to stock and have the bottle to match too!

They are available to buy on our Cutie & Cheeky website

Tins are £12 and Bottles £13

About Us!

Thought the best place to start is by introducing ourselves and what we're all about!

I'm Lois and my husband is called Liam, we have created Cutie & Cheeky together and named it after our two sons Alfie who is nearly 3 and Shay who is 15 months. We are always calling them cutie and cheeky and thought it was a great name to call our new business!

We are based in Essex, England but running everything from home at the moment with an online shop www.cutieandcheeky.co.uk Eventually we would love to have a bricks and mortar Children's Boutique but we will have to see how things go!

I've always loved finding unique gifts for our boys and others and would spend ages looking on the internet for special things. Ifound everything with a bit of funkiness or something different to be abroad so decided why not find all these fabulous brands and stock them myself.... huge leap I know, but I love picking out things to share with my future customers and hoping that everyone loves them too!

So far my favourites are what we have on the website, they are all of very good quality, some retro, some contemporary and modern designs; but all fun and specially picked for little ones!

In our collection we have retro-inspired cases and bottle by Blafre in Norway, very bright and colourful that kids and grown ups will love!

We have fabulous soft toys and dressing up clothes by Oskar & Ellen, designed in Sweden and who are all about fun products that stimulate children's learning, imagination and role-play.

Contemporary styling by ella & otto brings you modern furnishings and accessories for young children to live and play amongst, if we have another baby our nursery will be one of these!

We currently have the Tweet Tweet and Lollipop Apple range for the nursery but also some of the Organic collection, all so perfect for your little-ones.

We have also placed orders with Beatrix of New York who create cool, contemporary stuff for kids, we have a selection of their lunch boxes, back packs and wheelie bags on the way, should be with us beginning of March www.beatrixny.com

Also we are waiting on the Katvig Winter 2011 collection and have some beautiful childhood memory teddies coming from Moulin Roty - can't wait to share!

Hope you enjoy our blog, anything you would like to purchase you will find on www.cutieandcheeky.co.uk

Any queries or questions please email us on mail@cutieandcheeky.co.uk.

Thank you!
